Two people transported by ambulance after accident in front of school 

A 78-year-old Lady Lake man and a 41-year-old Summerfield woman were injured in a chain-reaction accident at about 8:30 a.m. Monday in front of Village of Elementary of Lady Lake.

Bryce Michael Douglas Popple, 22, of Zephyrhills, had been driving a vehicle north on Rolling Acres Road in the school zone when his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Robert Louis Brownfield, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The force of the collision pushed Brownfield’s vehicle into the rear of a vehicle driven by Julie Stevens Hamlin.

Brownfield and Hamlin were transported to The Villages Regional Hospital by Lake EMS.

Popple was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
