One-time Villager and the mother of actor Steve Carell died the day before Mother’s Day.
Harriet (Koch) Carell, 90, died Saturday at her home in Acton, Mass.
In 2011, the actor best known for “The Office” celebrated his parents’ 60th anniversary at Glenview Country Club here in The Villages. Carell visited his parents several times during their time in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.

Harriet Carell worked for over 30 years as a psychiatric nurse at Emerson Hospital in Concord, and upon retirement continued to work with the Acton Nursing Service.
“Harriet loved flea markets, making preserves, spending time with her family, and was a great fan of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, whom she referred to as her ‘boyfriend,'” according to her obituary.
In addition to Steve Carell, she is survived by three other sons and six grandchildren.
Visiting hours are Saturday, May 14th from 4-7pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue, Acton Ma. 01720. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Acton on June 18. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Acton Nursing Service.
