A new law that goes into effect July 1, will give The Villages new powers to tow vehicles parked where they shouldn’t be parked.
District counsel Valerie Fuchs briefed Community Development District 7 supervisors on the changes on Thursday morning.

The new law would allow the District to contract with a towing company which would remove vehicles that are parked where they don’t belong. The District wouldn’t incur any costs, as the vehicle’s owner would have to pay the towing company in order to retrieve their vehicles.
A joint workshop of all of the CDDs is being planned to discuss implementation of the possible towing plan. A date for that meeting has not been set.
“We would be delighted to participate in such a meeting,” said CDD 7 Chairman Ron McMahon.
