The Florida Health Information Management Association has awarded Central Florida Health with the 2016 Outstanding Professional Practice Experience Site award.
This award is designed to recognize health care facilities that are committed to the future of the Health Information profession by accepting HIM program students for professional practice experiences.
The Health Information Technology Program Director at Lake-Sumter State College nominated Central Florida Health for this award.
“We are so pleased that our students are offered quality professional practice experience right here in our own community,” said Brandy Ziesemer, program manager at Lake-Sumter State College. “It is important for HIM students to have meaningful exposure to the real world application of what they are learning in the classroom.”
Central Florida Health will be presented the award at the annual FHIMA Membership Luncheon in July.
“We are proud to help bridge the gap from student to employee,” said Becky Dicus, system director of Health Information Services at Central Florida Health. “Not only do we hope to help shape future leaders in Health Information Management, but we also want to recruit future team members for our own organization.”
