A man who allegedly fled the Buffalo Ridge Wal-Mart with stolen merchandise in his pants, has been tracked down thanks to a photo of his license plate.
Valentino Lamont McMullen, 38, was arrested at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday at the Economy Inn in Wildwood.
He is accused of entering the store Sunday and taking about $100 in merchandise, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He and another individual were leaving the store when they were approached by a loss prevention officer. McMullen got into a car and left the scene, but the loss prevention officer shot a photo of his license plate.

McMullen was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of petit theft. Bond was set at $500.
His alleged accomplice, 36-year-old Heather Joan Robinson of Wildwood, was also arrested Wednesday. She is also facing a charge of petit theft. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
