To the Editor:
Patrick Moynihan’s famous quote about opinions is: “everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.” If we base our judgements on what we read, see, and hear, it is probably a good idea to understand the difference between opinions and facts. An opinion is an expression of a persons feelings that can not be proved, A fact is a piece of information that can be strictly defined and proved true. The cowardly attack, that killed Austin Stevens, at Spanish Springs was not reported as a murder. The two people arrested were not charged with murder. I “feel” like this should be treated as murder, but that’s not the fact of the matter. GM imports and sell cars and will do more of this in the future. Little is not necessarily better than big. Being careless with the facts is generally lazy, often intentional and exceedingly common. Examine the material. Draw your own conclusions. Right or wrong! (yes, there are wrong opinions) This one? Could be!
