Three Villagers were recently recognized for their outstanding performances during the past 2015-2016 theater season. Gail Baumann took top honors as Best Actress at The Melon Patch Theater in Leesburg for her role of Martha, the oldest of the eight sisters, in “Octette Bridge Club.” The theater also named Ken Hoffmann as Best Supporting Actor for his characterization of Saul in the comedy Play On.
At the Ocala Civic Theatre, Richard Behrendt received the award for Best Actor as Wilfred in Quartet within their Ovation series. The play takes place in a retirement home for indigent actors/singers where he tries to assemble a singing quartet for an upcoming celebration. Behrendt has received previous accolades at OCT.
