The Central Florida League’s summer season came to an end on Tuesday with Softball’s R Game claiming the league title with an unblemished 9-0 record.
SRG handled Harlan Insurance 15-7. Led by Al Mahar’s 3 hits and 5 rbi’s and sub Jim Rogers 3 hits the Softball team had 23 total hits. Rick Duemler, Jim Stencil, Bob Buchanan, Ray Bedford, Jim Harrison, Bill Nisbet, Ed Krisha, and Tom Bortle all had 2 hits. Harlan’s Dave Pope and Charles Clare had 3 hits and Pete Glowacki had a triple and a single to drive in 2 runs.
Babiarz Law claimed 2nd place ending a 2 game losing streak by beating IHOP 6-4.
Babiarz had 2 hits each by Paul Justice, Tim Carroll, Rick Poland, and Rich Bergman. Babiarz had a 4 run bottom of the 5th to take a 6-1 lead. IHOP answered back in the top of the 6th with 3 runs; but, couldn’t score in the top of the seventh. IHOP got 2 hits from Dave Oatley and sub John Wyks.
Synergy Wealth got a win with a 9-6 defeat of Buffalo Crossing.
Synergy had 2 hits each by: Vernon Brooks, Ed DeMaio, Vinny Pezzullo, Dave Williams, John Reedy, and sub, Bruce Harlan. Buffalo Crossing’s Don Brozick, Bill Reed, John Leone, and Bill Begley all had 2 hits in the losing cause.
Mulberry Integrative Medicine overcomes Fross & Fross 7-4 in the final game of the day.
Pitcher, R.J. Jackson, Dick Adams, and John Hoover had 3 hits each for Mulberry. Lead off batter, Bill DiCarlo added 2 hits. Fross & Fross lead off man, Pat Perkins had a double and a triple. Jack Nagle led the Fross team with 3 hits and Bud Ramsey had 2 hits. Mike Hyott put double just inside the 3rd base line to drive in 2 runs as Fross scored 3 runs in the first inning.
The Central Florida League’s post season tournament starts next Tuesday with 4 games on the slate.
