Ann Joyce Yancura, age 72, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016. She was born in Akron, OH on October 1, 1943. She moved to The Villages from Ohio 12 years ago. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Akron University (Kappa Kappa Gamma) and a Masters of Library Science from Kent State University.
During her life Ann worked as a Teacher, Librarian and Director of President William McKinley’s Memorial Library and Museum in Niles, OH. Ann was an avid reader and very much enjoyed playing bridge and mahjong with friends and neighbors. She also loved cooking, collecting Ohio pottery, art, antiques and was also an active member in her church ministry.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years Nick Yancura of The Villages, FL; son Dan Yancura of The Villages, FL; daughter Beth Harrod of Mahtomedi, MN; sister Susan Carter of Columbus, OH; and 3 grandchildren Zachary, Samantha and Trevor.
Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held at St Mark The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 7081 SE Highway 42, Summerfield, FL 34491 on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. Her cremains will be placed at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
