Garland L. Powell, 85, of The Villages, FL, died on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at The Villages Regional Hospital. He was born April 5, 1931 in Carthage, Missouri. He spent his entire career in Fluid Power Sales and Marketing Management. Garland was active in the National Fluid Power Association and was Chairman of the Economics and Statistics Committee at the time of his Retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Sharon (Wilder) Powell; daughter Linda Rueschhof (John), Hutchinson, KS; son Larry Powell (Jai), Bangkok, Thailand; sisters Sharon Ledgerwood (Vic), Hutchinson, KS and Vicki Eden (Larry), Joplin , MO; 5 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three step-daughters Angie Hammett (Jeff), Pittsfield, IL, Gina Cichantek, Menomonee Falls, WI, and Dawn Bores (Greg), Pittsfield, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents Twyla and Earl Powell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
