The Villager known as the “vexatious litigant” has filed another lawsuit and was spotted Friday night at Spanish Springs Town Square.

Richard N. Hendricks, 79, who has been arrested four times this year for trespassing on Villages facilities from which he has been banned, visited the square Friday evening in his EZ-GO golf cart.
This past week, Hendricks also filed another lawsuit in small claims court in Lake County. This time he is targeting Shad Cook, general manager at Orange Blossom Hills Country Club, and Michael Halprin of Community Watch. Hendricks had been arrested in July when he showed up at the swimming pool at the country club and refused to leave. He was jailed on a charge of trespassing. Hendricks has been informed by letter, more than once, that he is banned from all Villages facilities.
He was arrested twice in August. Once at Spanish Springs Town Square and later at the Rio Grande Family Pool. He was also trespassed from The Pub restaurant on Avenida Central.
This summer, he has filed lawsuits against Golf Management Solutions, Harbor Chase Assisted Living, Villages Recreation Director John Rohan and Villages Entertainment Department Director Brian Russo.
In 2009, Hendricks’ lawsuit against Rohan and District Manager Janet Tutt backfired and he ended up owing them attorneys’ fees.
In 2010, the Town of Lady Lake negotiated a deal in which Hendricks was declared a “vexatious litigant,” which means somebody who basically abuses the court system.
