A 61-year-old woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence Sunday evening after reportedly leaving Gator Joe’s restaurant in Ocklawaha.
Cynthia Lou Hicks of Belleview was driving a Dodge Ram pickup at 5:42 p.m. when she was almost involved in a head-on collision on County Road 25, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. She told a deputy who pulled over her pickup that she had been drinking at Gator Joe’s.
She failed field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples that registered .176 and .163 blood alcohol content.
She was booked at the Marion County Jail.
