Community Development District 7 supervisors split in a heated discussion Thursday morning over whether to ask the Developer for financial support for the $1.7 million Morse Boulevard bridge embankment project.
CDD 7 Supervisor Ron Ruggeri, who represents his district on the Project Wide Advisory Committee, broke from the PWAC ranks when he said CDD 7 would seek support for the project. PWAC members indicated they thought there was no reason to seek support from the Developer. You can read more about that meeting HERE
In Thursday’s meeting, CDD 7 Chair Ron McMahon was vehemently opposed to sending the letter asking for financial help from the Developer for the bridge project.

During the course of the debate, McMahon was able to persuade fellow Supervisor Dennis Broedlin to side with him.
Ultimately, it was a 3-2 vote with Ruggeri and Supervisors Jerry Vicenti and William VonDohlen in favor of sending the letter.
CDD 7 has had success in the past when sending a letter to the Developer seeking financial support. The Developer ultimately helped pay for the traffic light on Colony Boulevard in 2014.
