Jim Richards is the “new” mayor of the Town of Lady Lake.
He was selected as mayor Monday night by his fellow town commissioners.
Richards, a resident of The Villages, was first named town mayor when Mayor Max Pullen died in 2008. He served in that role until three years ago when Commissioner Ruth Kussard took charge of the gavel.
On Monday, she nominated Richards for the mayor’s post.
Kussard said she was proud of her three-year tenure and pointed to lowering taxes and paying off the Lady Lake Library as major achievements.
