The Marion County Sheriff’s Office nabbed three men after breaking up an armed robbery before it occurred.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., detectives observed two masked gunmen approaching an internet café, located at 1043 NE 14th Street in Ocala, on foot. Detectives immediately intervened before the armed robbers could enter the business, and two suspects fled to a get-away vehicle located nearby.

Deputies  apprehended 21-year-old Tlarence Munnerlyn prior to him reaching the car. The other suspect, later identified as 20-year-old William Charles Jackson entered the vehicle, and he and the get-away driver, 22-year-old Toney Cobb fled the scene. Detectives then initiated a vehicle pursuit.

After an approximately two-mile pursuit, deputies successfully conducted a Precision Immobilization Technique at the 1100th block of NW 10th Street, which disabled the suspects’ vehicle. Jackson was taken into custody at the vehicle without incident, but Cobb fled on foot. After a perimeter was established between MCSO and the Ocala Police Department, MCSO’s Aviation Unit’s Air One located Cobb hiding in a residential area nearby. Officers and detectives were directed to his location by Air One and Cobb was taken into custody.

The investigation is currently on-going into these individuals to determine if they are responsible for other robberies that have occurred in Marion County and/or in other jurisdictions.
