Robert Eugene Blasko, 85, died December 8, 2016 in The Villages, FL. Bob was born on August 15, 1931 in Scranton, PA to Violet and Andrew. He graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1949. Following graduation he served in the 79th Infantry Division Reserve Band for over ten years while working at the Scranton Times. Bob married June Anne Betti of Pittston in July of 1956; they were married for 60 years. After 30 years as a Printer and Graphic Artist, Bob retired and then moved to the Villages in 2004. While here, he became a member in many activities, such as the Jazz workshop, Creative Writers Club, and both the Independent and Foreign Film clubs. He was especially proud to have been instrumental in helping Fairway Christian Church start their Contemporary Music program and joining the Piano Club where he met many new artists. He is survived by his wife, June Anne; his children, a daughter, Dr. Dawn Blasko and her husband Michael Drabik, and his son, Brain Blasko; granddaughters, Holly and Aurora; great grandson, Damian; his nephews, Karl and Gary Owens, Larry Coar, Jr.; and a niece Lynn Jones.
Funeral Service will be held December 15, 2016 at Beyers Funeral Home on 134 North Highway 27/441 in Lady Lake. The family will be available to greet friends at 10 a.m. and a short service will be held at 11 a.m.
