Villager Joe Elliott will be sworn in Monday night as a city commissioner in Wildwood.
The former Community Development District 8 supervisor won election to a commission seat this past November, defeating incumbent Robby Strickland.
Elliott’s election comes at a pivotal time for Wildwood. The city is about to explode in population with more Villagers, more young professionals in subdivisions like Oxford Oaks and more subdivisions on the drawing board.
Elliott said he hopes citizens will come out for the swearing-in ceremony at Wildwood City Hall. Commissioner Julian Green, who won re-election in November, will also be taking the oath.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
