Community Development District 3 supervisors on Friday echoed concerns from residents about speeding drivers.

CDD 3 Chairman Bill Ray said he had complaints from walkers who regularly see speeders on Talley Ridge Drive in the Villages of Glenbrook.

CDD 3 Superviser Marie McAvoy chimed in that she frequently encounters speeders on Southern Trace in the Village of Polo Ridge.

“A lot of people use it as a cut through,” McAvoy said.

District staff indicated they would contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office and relay the concerns.

“Speed limit signs for a good number of people are just a recommendation,” Ray said.
