Former lawmaker Marlene O’Toole appointed to board of Central Florida Health

Central Florida Health, a private, not-for-profit health system that includes Leesburg Regional Medical Center, The Villages Regional Hospital and TVRH Rehabilitation Hospital, has announced the appointment of two new members to its board of trustees as well as the full roster of officers and members for 2017.

“I am extremely pleased to welcome two outstanding community members to the Central Florida Health Board of Trustees,” said Greg Lewis, board chairperson. “These folks will have an important role in shaping the future of healthcare in Lake, Sumter and south Marion Counties. Their participation in our community-owned and governed health system is of great importance.”

New board member H. Marlene O’Toole has just completed a term as a member of the Florida House of Representatives representing the 33rd District, which includes northern Lake County, Sumter County and southern Marion County. Prior to being elected to public office in 2008, she was an account management and marketing executive with IBM Corporation.

O’Toole has worked with the Lake County School System as project manager and special assistant to the president of Take Stock in Children; a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for low-income, academically qualified students by providing opportunities for a post-secondary education.
