The Skipper is presenting “The Songs of Kander and Ebb” at Temple Shalom on Saturday, Feb. 11. This is the 10th musical fundraiser he has hosted at the Temple.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Bob Washington Jazz Scholarship Fund of the Jazz Lovers Club which provides musical instruments to needy students in the Wildwood/Sumter Area and scholarships to local students who are studying music.
The Temple Shalom Sisterhood is sponsoring this event with The Skipper, aka Mark Finkle. Tickets are $12 for Temple Members and $15 the Public. For information call 352-748-1800.
The songwriting team of composer John Kander and Lyricist Fred Ebb are responsible for: “Cabaret,” “Zorba”, “Funny Lady” and “Chicago”
Also appearing with the Skipper are Chris Bolus, Gillian Bolus, Bill Davis, Carolyn Hoffman, Joan Knapton, Bill Krone, Jan Lavin, Mia Prescott, Savoy Kicks, Sue Schuler, Janice Swartz, Syd Tenenbaum and Billie Thatcher. Maestro Hector Garrido is music director.
