Jackie Burke (Robert DeNiro) is well known and loved as the star of a TV family sit-com that challenged “All the Family” in the early black and white screen days. Getting current gigs has been rough for him, so he tries for a comeback in a venue in which he feels comfortable: “Insult Comedy.”
His short temper lands him a court sentence of work release in a soup kitchen where he meets the lovely Harmony (Leslie Mann). They begin an unlikely relationship because of their age difference. He’s 73, she’s 42. Despite this, they end up in bed and Harmony becomes pregnant.

Another ugly scene has Burke emceeing a retirement complex where he improvises a derogatory song “Making Poopie.”
Instead of the high expectation of class work by DeNiro, we are anointed with a countless, unending barrage of the F word.
