A 39-year-old Del Webb Spruce Creek man was arrested after his vehicle hit a concrete barrier Tuesday night on Interstate 75 near Wildwood.
Witnesses said Peter Jeremy Devine’s vehicle had been swerving just before the accident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
When asked if he had been drinking, Devine said he had consumed “One and a half beers,” the report indicated.
He failed field sobriety exercises and refused to provide a breath sample. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
