A 45-year-old Lady Lake man is facing a felony sex offense after allegedly inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl.

James Harry Johnson III, who lives in the Oakland Hills subdivision, was arrested Thursday evening by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation.

A 13-year-old girl had reported that since Valentine’s Day, Johnson had caressed her face and rubbed her lips, making her feel uncomfortable. She said when he did this, she bit his finger and he would then grab her breast, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office. She said this had happened five to 10 times since Valentine’s Day. During an interview with a sheriff’s deputy, Johnson said he had “wrestled” with the girl. He also said that he has started drinking heavily recently due to financial stress and is not sure what he might have done at night.

He was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
