A 31-year-old Lady Lake man was arrested by Lake County sheriff’s deputies after he was spotted driving a John Deere Gator with guns and two small children along for the ride.

Zachary Taite Adams, who has a revoked Florida driver’s license, had previously been warned by a deputy that he cannot drive the four-wheeler because of the status of his license.

However, Adams was spotted driving the Gator at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Lemon Street at Oakridge Drive in Lady Lake, according to an arrest report.

When the deputy approached the vehicle, he spotted a Ruger 380 in the unsecured dashboard cubby and a 9mm Glock, with a loaded magazine and a round in the chamber, tucked between the seats and cupholder. The cupholder contained an open Yuengling beer.

In addition to Adams’ driver’s license being revoked, the deputy found that Adams’ concealed carry permit was also revoked.

Adams was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and cited for open container.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail.

The children were turned over to a neighbor until the second parent arrived.
