A 33-year-old Lady Lake woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to steal a pair of Nike shoes Tuesday afternoon at Beall’s.
Amber Lynn Wright entered the store on U.S. 441 in Lady Lake at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and put the shoes into her purse before approaching the checkout counter, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She wrote out a check for some merchandise, but never attempted to pay for the shoes, the report indicated.
After she stepped outside, it took two loss prevention officers to subdue her.
It was also determined that the check she wrote was from an account with insufficient funds. Wright has four previous theft convictions.
She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
