A driver from Michigan was ticketed for making an illegal U-turn in a collision with a Villager’s vehicle at 12:15 p.m. Monday near Village Crossroads shopping plaza.
Christopher Lee Elchuk, 45, of Sterling, Mich. had been at the wheel of a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer and was making an illegal U-turn on Rolling Acres Road when his vehicle struck the passenger side of a 1984 GMC van driven by Stanley Joseph Socha, 72, of The Villages, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
Elchuk was cited for an illegal U-turn. Both drivers escaped injury.
