A woman was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital after an accident at about 1 p.m. Friday near Southern Trace Plaza.
The woman had been eastbound on Woodridge Drive and had proceeded through a stop sign after having stopped. Her car collided with a vehicle that had been northbound on County Road 101, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman said she had not seen the other vehicle.
She was cited on a charge of failure to yield.
