Lillian Elaine Smith, 74, of Wildwood, FL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Lil was born November 27, 1942 in Sanford to the late Alonzo and Tonnie Bess. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and cherished spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 53 years, Walter “Ron” Smith; daughter, Myrle (Tony) Schulz of Miami; son, Walter “Ronnie” (Maria) Smith of Key Largo; grandchildren, Sabrina Smith, Kyle Schulz, Derick Smith, and Kory Schulz; brothers, Alonzo Franklin “Buddy” Bess, and Donald Lee “Snapper” (Linda) Bess both of Kenansville; sister, Cynthia Louise (Ricky) Blankenship of Kenansville; sister-in-law, Connie (George) Webb of Bushnell; nieces, Carla (Danny) Benavides, Tawny (Jeff) Cowart, Jenny Bess, Christy (Clint) Bass, Laura Blankenship, and Katrina (Ryan) Baggett; and lots of loving, extended family members.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church of Kenansville (760 S. Canoe Creek Rd) with a service to follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Paul Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Kenansville Cemetery.
