To the Editor:
Here we go again! The question of deed compliance and following the rules have become very much a red herring. Today, the undeniable facts are that whether you are allowed a white cross or an attractive bird sculpture depends totally on the whims of your CDD supervisors. Preposterous! If a resident decided to challenge a ruling legally in court, he or she would be entitled by law, to know the name of the complainant. It is ironic that CDD supervisors have created the very disharmony that the regulations seek to prevent. It is time for this to be addressed at the macro-corporate level in the villages. Is there a forum to do this?
Here is another option. In order to keep the beautiful appearance of The Villages, there should be a total ban on all lawn ornaments period. That would eliminate the need for relying on anonymous complaints. The Community Standards could arrange to have them all removed. Problem solved. Why are there inconsistencies between CDDs?
