Community Development District 1 supervisors have given preliminary approval to a budget that calls for a 10 percent hike in maintenance assessment fees.
The final budget is scheduled for adoption in a Sept. 8 public hearing.
The budget for Fiscal Year 2017-18 will be $1,134,575.
“The increasing costs of wetland maintenance and landscaping plus future mill/overlay road project costs, according to the Capital Improvement Plan, attributed to the need to increase the maintenance assessments,” according to a document prepared by District Budget Director Barbara Kays.
The increase will be an additional $20 for villa owners and an additional $35.56 for other homeowners.
CDD 1 residents will be receiving letters notifying them of the increase.
