A 55-year-old man was arrested by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy on Sunday on Main Street in Wildwood.
Norman William Anderson of Inverness had been at the wheel of a silver Cadillac when he was pulled over by a deputy in the parking lot of Dollar General.
Anderson admitted he had consumed “a few beers,” according to the arrest report. He also admitted his driver’s license was suspended and he has been classified as a habitual offender.
He failed field sobriety exercises and refused to provide a breath sample.
He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breath test and driving while license suspended.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $13,000 bond.
