The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a white Kia Soul which fled the scene of a crash that claimed the life of a 26-year-old Moped operator Wednesday night in Lake County.
Patrick Burns was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner, following the crash which occurred at 9:04 p.m. on County Road 437 and Central Avenue in Sorrento, according to a report from FHP.
A passenger on the Moped, 18-year-old Alexandria Swisher, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital.

The 2009-2014 Kia Soul was traveling eastbound on Central Avenue as the Moped was traveling southbound on County Road 437. Meanwhile, a 2014 Toyota Prius driven by 48-year-old Peter Brunell of Sorrento was northbound on County Road 437. The Kia Soul ran a stop sign and struck the Moped, sending it into the northbound lane where it was struck by Brunell’s Prius. He had been unable to stop in time.
