The Lady Lake Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a check fraud case.
This person is the primary suspect in check fraud cases in Lady Lake and Leesburg. At the time of the incident in Lady Lake, the suspect was observed driving a red Mercedes-Benz C250 sedan.

The suspect had gone to the Citizens First Bank drive-through lane at 10:11 a.m. July 12 in Spanish Springs. She cashed two $1,000 checks drawn on Wells Fargo Bank and Campus USA Credit Union accounts. She presented a driver’s license to the teller at the drive-through lane.
However, it was later determined that the checks and the driver’s license had been in a purse stolen from a car parked at a Leesburg church.
A total of eight checks were cashed, the other six checks were cashed in Leesburg.
Anyone with information that could assist in identifying this suspect is asked to contact Detective Charles Gehrsitz with the Lady Lake Police Department at (352) 751-1542.
