A 44-year-old woman who attempted to steal bottles of fragrance from Belk in The Villages is serving 29 days in the Lake County Jail.
Gladys Marie Griffin entered a plea of no contest Tuesday to a charge of petit theft in Lake County Court.
She had been arrested July 27 after she attempted to conceal a bottle of fragrance in her purse, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She then attempted to conceal a second bottle of fragrance in her purse. She was confronted by the store’s loss prevention officer after she attempted to leave the store.
The bottles had a combined value of $164.
She has several previous arrests in Lake County.
