A Lady Lake police officer broke the window of a Jeep after two infants were accidentally locked inside the vehicle in the parking lot of Target at Rolling Acres Plaza.
A 29-year-old Fruitland Park woman called law enforcement on the afternoon of Aug. 17 after she accidentally locked her two 15-month-old infants in her Jeep, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. She encouraged a police officer to break a window to get the babies out. The officer estimated the temperature was about 85 degrees. The officer also noted the infants were crying and appeared to be upset.
EMS arrived on the scene and checked out the infants who seemed to be unharmed. They were turned back over to their mother.
