A North Carolina man was struck and killed early Sunday morning on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.
Daniel Joseph Birner, 33, of Beulaville, N.C. died at the scene of the accident at 12:17 a.m. on I-75 north of County Road 48, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
He had been walking in the outside right northbound lane when he was struck by a 2008 Toyota Camry driven by Joshua Seerman, 24, of Leesburg. He was not injured.
