Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputies reportedly found a counterfeit $100 bill when transporting the property of a jailed burglar in the booking room on Wednesday.
An MCSO deputy responded to the booking area of the Marion County Jail in reference to a counterfeit $100 bill being found in the booking property room, according to an incident report. The deputy made contact with the sergeant who advised that inmate Ryan Marrero was booked in jail the day before. When it was noticed that Marrero’s property was in the wrong box, it was moved into another property box. The counterfeit bill was discovered in the process of moving the property.
The deputy collected the counterfeit bill and entered it into evidence at the operation’s center, where it will be forwarded to federal authorities.
