The Opera Club of The Villages is having their annual fundraiser Enchanted Evening which is a benefit for the Harold Schwartz Music Scholarship Program on Friday, Oct.27 from 7 – 9 p.m. at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages with four outstanding college musicians, a Pianist, Adam Rothenberg who is pursuing his Master of Music while substituting at the New York Philharmonic, Trumpeter Monica Benson is the Bugler at Arlington Race Track and a Soprano and Tenor. Maestro Bill Doherty chose the two vocalists, and he will accompany them. Soprano Carson Dorsey, a student of Molly Fillmore at the University of North Texas made her debut as guest soloist with the Czech Symphony. Jorge Luis Martinez a Tenor, debuted with the Puerto Rico Symphony at the age of 7.The Program includes selections from Gershwin, La Boheme, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Chopin, Kismet and Ravel.
The Opera Club of The Villages has expanded their Harold Schwartz scholarship assistance to Charter Middle School students – offering free private music lessons to 20 students – 10 voice and 10 instrumental, in addition to the lessons we provide at the Charter High School, through the MAP program.
Tickets are $20 per person for general seating and are available through The Villages Box Office locations or at the door the night of the fundraiser.
