Wildwood man arrested on three counts of sexual assault

Anthony Joseph Gottlieb

A Wildwood man has been arrested on three counts of sexual assault after allegedly forcing himself on a woman beginning over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Anthony Joseph Gottlieb, 29, was arrested Saturday by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies and booked on $30,000 bond.

He allegedly assaulted a woman on Thanksgiving Day, the following Sunday and this past Friday at a residence in Lake Panasoffkee.

At one point, the woman threatened to call for her mother who lives at the same residence, and Gottlieb told the woman he would “knock her out and get it any way,” according to an arrest affidavit from the sheriff’s office.

Gottlieb had been arrested earlier this year after stealing cigarettes in Wildwood.
