U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio will be the featured speaker at the March 3 Lincoln Day Dinner in The Villages.
The event, sponsored by the Sumter County Republican Executive Committee, will be held at Savannah Center. Tickets are available at goo.gl/Kpb8pz.
Rubio sailed to re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2016 after being humiliated in his home state in the presidential contest. In the Florida primary, Rubio lost every precinct in The Villages to then-political-newcomer Donald Trump despite a last-minute rally at the Rohan Recreation Center.

Last year, Gov. Rick Scott received a warm welcome at the Lincoln Day Dinner in The Villages.
The previous year, the group heard from then-South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
