A Michigan man driving a motorhome was ticketed in an accident that left an Ocala man seriously injured.

Timothy Taylor Petersen, 63, of Swartz Creek, Mich., had been at the wheel of 2016 Itasca Sunstar motorhome at 8:40 a.m. Monday on County Road 484 in Marion County, when he entered into an intersection and collided with a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora driven by 21-year-old John Isaiah Garrett of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

A car driven by an Ocala man was wedged under a Michigan couple’s motorhome after a crash in Marion County.

Garrett was trapped in his vehicle when it became wedged under the motorhome as a result of the collision. The crash blocked westbound traffic on the roadway for several hours.

Garrett was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Petersen escaped injury, but a passenger in the motorhome, 58-year-old Jenny Kay Petersen also of Swartz Creek, Mich. suffered minor injuries.

Petersen was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield the right-of-way.
