Officers found 38-year-old David Chauncey Lapp in the parking lot of the Peppertree Apartments, where he resides. He was “stumbling” near a vehicle that did not belong to him, according to the arrest report. He swore at the police officers and threatened to kill them.

Restaurant employees told police that Lapp had been in the restaurant and was very intoxicated. He was asked to leave the restaurant and had to be locked out. Lapp made threats to damage staffers’ vehicles.

He was arrested on a charge of disorderly intoxication.

Lapp is on probation on a felony charge of possession of cocaine in Sumter County.

He was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
