A Leesburg woman was arrested Sunday night after a Lady Lake police officer discovered she was driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Jami Lace Wirick, 27, was initially stopped by the officer at the corner of Banana Street and Old Dixie Highway in Lady Lake because her driver’s side window was illegally tinted, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. But when the officer checked Wirick’s license, it came back suspended for failure to pay traffic fines. In addition, the report said Wirick’s license was suspended in February 2009, July 2013 and October 2015.
Wirick was charged with driving on a suspended license (third or subsequent time). She was taken to the Lake County Jail and booked on a $5,000 bond and released shortly after midnight Monday morning. She also received a written warning for the illegal tint on the driver’s side window.
