A woman was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital after her vehicle collided with a school bus Friday afternoon at U.S. 301 and County Road 466.

Andrea Tamara Williams, 53, of Coleman, had been at the wheel of the Sumter County school bus at 4:07 p.m. traveling northbound on U.S. 301 and had the green light when her bus collided with a 2003 Toyota Matrix driven by 59-year-old Candida Perez of Ocala, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Perez had been westbound on County Road 466 and was making a right turn onto U.S. 301 when the collision occurred. Her vehicle struck the right rear tire of the school bus.

There were 25 children on board the school bus when the collision occurred, but none were injured.

Perez was transported by ambulance to TVRH. She was ticketed on a charge of improper lane change.
