An Ocala man called law enforcement May 20 after he realized a handgun was missing from his home.

According to a Marion County Sheriff’s report, the man, who lives in the 800 block of Bahia Circle, told deputies that he went to Daytona Beach on May 18 at about 4 p.m. and returned home May 19 at 8 p.m. He said he didn’t notice anything suspicious and his house looked secure.

On May 20, however, the man said he realized his .380 pistol with a black handle, valued at $300, was missing. He said nothing else appeared to be missing from his home. And he said he contacted his wife and she told him she didn’t remove the firearm.
