A $130,000 piece of equipment used in the process of repairing sinkholes was stolen from an Ocala Wal-Mart.

A contractor working to repair sinkholes in the retention pond behind the store, located at 34 Bahia Ave., told a Marion County deputy that a skid steer had been at the location for about a month as crews continued to fill sinkholes. He said it had been parked in the grass next to a fence that surrounds the retention pond.

The contractor said he discovered the loader was missing Thursday when he came to pick it up.
