Two men were injured in a Thursday morning crash when a car slammed into the side of pickup truck and it overturned on U.S. 41 in Dunnellon.
The driver of the green 1996 Chevrolet pickup, 26-year-old Jamie Brantley of Inverness, and his passenger, 31-year-old Jonathan Slaughter of Dunnellon, both were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
The crash happened at 6:58 a.m. when a red 2006 Honda Civic driven by 31-year-old Allison Pauline Costa turned onto U.S. 41 from 102nd Street Road. Costa’s car struck the ride side of Brantley’s truck, forcing it to overturn in the southbound lanes of U.S. 41.
Costa, of Dunnellon, wasn’t injured but was cited for failing to yield the right of way, the report says.
