An Ocala Taco Bell manager was arrested late Sunday night after a violent altercation left a man with multiple scratches and a bite mark.
When Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at a home on Spring Drive in Ocala, 35-year-old Rhawnlie Anne Brown told them that she had gotten into a confrontation with a man while he was lying on the couch. She claimed the argument continued into another room and the man eventually attacked her, though she couldn’t provide details other than “being grabbed the neck,” a sheriff’s office report states.
The man, however, told deputies a different story. He said Brown came home “inebriated” and they argued about her staying out late. He said that while he was lying on the couch, Brown started “hitting and scratching him, which is why her nails are broken.” And he told deputies that he did push her around the neck to “get her away from him,” the report says.
The deputy noted that the man had multiple scratches on his forearm and a bite mark, “which were consistent with his statement.” The deputy also said that he didn’t see any visible injuries on Brown but did take note of the fact that her fingernails were broken.
Brown was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with domestic battery. She was being held on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in a Marion County courtroom on Aug. 22 at 1 p.m.
