To the Editor:

In response to the recent letter defaming Trump supporters for attending a rally: First of all R.S., the term is “too familiar.” And while Village-News.com is willing to print your rant (and spelling errors) the rest of us bear witness to a perfect example of why we do support our president.
As Americans, we’re all entitled to what we believe and the pursuit thereof. However, it seems unnecessarily burdensome that any one of us would sling nasty words at the other; meaningless antagonism.
Perhaps the “clueless, naive, stupid people” you are referring to have directed their loyalty in a direction you dislike in large part because this is the only logical argument you can muster.
Feel free to speak your mind. But don’t expect us to listen until you can offer a mature intelligent debate.
We were first called “deplorable” and look how that turned out. Now you call us “stupid” and I imagine you expect a different result?
It’s time to cover the middle ground, reduce the gap, work together, overcome differences and challenges. But as long as we continue to use third-grade arguments we are going to get third-grade results.
