Motorists traveling southbound on Interstate 75 on Monday and Thursday can expect delays, as traffic will be detoured onto State Road 44 in Wildwood.

The detour is necessary because crews are working on the interchange at I-75 and the Florida Turnpike, the state’s Department of Transportation said.

Traffic heading for the turnpike between the hours of 12:30-4:30 a.m. will exit I-75 at SR 44 and travel to U.S. 301 before heading south back to the turnpike. Through traffic heading south on I-75 will exit at SR 44, head east to U.S. 301, south on County Road 470 and west to return to the interstate, the DOT said.

Drivers heading north on I-75 near interchange also should expect delays, as traffic will be traveling in single lanes from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Those heading north on the turnpike will see single-lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on those days.
